Graham Lustig's unusual and creative staging of William
Shakespeare's comedic masterpiece, set to the music of
Mendelssohn,
begins with the marital spat between the King and Queen of the
Fairies, Oberon and Titania. At the heart of their quarrel is
the custody of a beautiful changeling child. "Not for thy fairy
kingdom" answers Titania to Oberon's request.
Not happy with this answer, Oberon sends Puck, his trickster
servant, on the mission of his revenge.

The Gabriel Alegria Afro Peruvian Sextet

experience playing jazz as it developed in the U.S. with
a passionate interest and careful study of the music of
coastal Peru. By incorporating and exploring the common
African roots found in both styles, he has developed a
uniquely Afro-Peruvian jazz music concept. In all of
Alegria’s work, a cross-cultural exchange between the
Americas is always present, carefully defining
Afro-Peruvian jazz music as the newest voice to come
from Latin America. |
