The classic book comes to the stage as a new musical for the entire family. Plainspoken farmer Matthew Cuthbert waits expectantly at the train station for an arrival; he and his sister Marilla are adopting an orphan boy to help out at the farm. However, no boys await him there -- only a girl with bright red hair and all her possessions in a carpet bag. Her name is Anne Shirley. Anne, who has never had a real home, is determined to stay with the Cuthberts at Green Gables, the little house they share. Through the years with her bosom friend Diana and sometime-rival Gilbert, she turns the entire community upside-down with her irrepressible imagination.
