Dance of the Caucasus has been created to exemplify the great folkloric traditions and cultures that make up the various states and provinces, which surround and comprise the greater Russian plateau.

Just as Bartok, the great Hungarian composer, was inspired to create by his meticulous research and transcription of Romanian and Hungarian folk songs and music, Dance of the Caucasus opens a window into the very living art, which thrives and is known today to the peoples indigenous to the Russias and which will not soon be forgotten.
